1. Steel Vengeance (Frontiertown)
Built upon the wooden bones of the former Mean Streak by Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC), Steel Vengeance redefined what a roller coaster could achieve. Standing 205 feet tall with an initial 90-degree straight-down drop, it hurls riders through 5,740 feet of track featuring four inversions and an unprecedented 27.2 seconds of airtime — the most of any coaster in existence.
Rider Tip: Mandatory free lockers are located inside the queue line just prior to metal detectors. Remove all phones, keys, and loose items before entering the locker queue.
2. Millennium Force (Celebration Plaza)
Soaring 310 feet along the Lake Erie shoreline, Millennium Force delivers pure, unadulterated speed. The 300-foot drop at 80 degrees reaches 93 mph, followed by a panoramic overbanked turn over the water and two massive camelback airtime hills. Despite operating for over a quarter century, its smooth Intamin tracking and lap-bar restraints make it an enduring fan favorite.
3. Maverick (Frontiertown)
Do not underestimate Maverick's modest 105-foot height. Featuring a 95-degree beyond-vertical first drop, aggressive s-curves, two inversions, and a 70 mph underground tunnel launch, Maverick delivers some of the most intense lateral and ejector forces anywhere in the world.

Fast Lane Plus: Is It Worth It?
Cedar Point operates two skip-the-line tiers: standard Fast Lane and Fast Lane Plus. If your goal is to conquer the premier coaster lineup, standard Fast Lane is insufficient, as it excludes the park's biggest draws.
Fast Lane Plus Access: Only Fast Lane Plus grants access to Steel Vengeance, Millennium Force, Maverick, and Valravn. On peak summer Saturdays where standby lines routinely exceed 120 minutes per headliner, Fast Lane Plus regularly saves 5 to 7 hours of waiting, easily allowing 15+ coaster rides in a single visit.
Rope Drop Strategy & Credit Optimization
To maximize your coaster credit count without burning unnecessary hours in queue:
- Use the Cedar Point Shores / Magnum Gate: If staying at an on-site resort (Hotel Breakers or Lighthouse Point) or entering via early access, enter through the back gate near Magnum. This positions you directly next to Steel Vengeance and Maverick, allowing you to ride both with minimal wait before the front gate crowds reach Frontiertown.
- Mid-Day Millennium Force & GateKeeper: Both coasters boast enormous hourly throughput (1,600+ riders/hour). Queues move briskly even during midday peaks.
- Night Rides in Frontiertown: A night ride on Steel Vengeance or Maverick through the pitch-black woods of Sandusky is an essential bucket-list rite of passage for every coaster fan.
Lake Erie Weather & Wind Thresholds: Ride Operations Intel
Cedar Point sits on a narrow peninsula projecting into Lake Erie, making it uniquely vulnerable to gusty microclimates and sudden squalls. Ride dispatch sensors monitor real-time anemometers atop lift hills. Here is the operational protocol for wind thresholds:
- GateKeeper & Raptor (25 – 30 mph sustained): Located directly along the beach perimeter, GateKeeper and Raptor are often the first coasters to enter wind holds due to wind resistance on wide wing-coaster trains and low-hanging inverted wheel assemblies.
- Millennium Force (32 – 35 mph sustained): At 310 feet, the lift hill cable dispatch slows under high crosswinds. If Millennium Force shuts down due to wind, prioritize lower-to-the-ground coasters like Maverick or Blue Streak.
- Rain Protocols: Cedar Point operates steel coasters in light rain, but shuts down under heavy downpours or lightning strikes within a 10-mile radius. In light rain, pack eye protection—hitting rain droplets at 93 mph on Millennium Force feels like BB pellets!

Locker Navigation Rules
- Steel Vengeance Free Mid-Queue Lockers: Small lockers (for phones, keys, and wallets) are provided free of charge halfway through the Steel Vengeance queue just prior to metal detectors. You do not need to pay for all-day lockers just for a cell phone!
- Bags, Backpacks & Souvenir Bottles: Large items must be placed in movable all-day lockers ($10 – $15/day) or single-use lockers outside the queue perimeter before entering.
- Zipper Pockets Are Not Permitted: Unlike some parks that allow zipped cargo pockets, Steel Vengeance requires all metallic objects into lockers or passing through wand inspection.
Dining Strategy: Fuelling a 15-Coaster Marathon
